Our Team

It takes a team to make a company successful and ChinaBio is no different.  Following are short biographies of some of our key team members and advisors.

Management Team

Greg B. Scott - President and Founder

Mr. Scott has helped launch over thirty life science startups in the U.S. and China as a founder, investor and advisor. He founded the ChinaBio® LLC in January 2007 to help fund and mentor early stage life science companies in China, and provide consulting and research services to pharma and biotech companies with business interests in China. Mr. Scott is also the president and co-founder of Life Science Angels, an angel investment group that has funded 30 biotechnology and medical device companies since 2005, and executive editor of ChinaBio® Today. He is also a strategic adviser to ChinaSF, an initiative of the Mayor of San Francisco to connect China and San Francisco business interests. He previously held senior executive positions at Price Waterhouse, Capgemini and MCI, and was co-founder of a 200-person consulting firm. Mr. Scott attended University of Missouri, where he studied mathematics, microbiology and computer science.

Ian Wisenberg - SVP, Strategic Development

Ian Wisenberg serves as ChinaBio's chief liaison with key executives and investors in the US.  Formerly Senior Vice President and CFO of BIOCOM, the largest regional life science association in the US, Mr. Wisenberg also led BIOCOM's Capital Development initiative and built its "VC incubator" in San Diego.  He brings over 25 years of experience in international finance, business development and administration, and serves on the board of two biotech companies.

Dongxu (Don) Qiu, PhD, MBA - General Manager, Consulting

Dr. Don Qiu leads ChinaBio's consulting and research activities in China. Don brings extensive management experience in the biotech industry, including research, product development, business development, operations, technology transfer, and venture capital. He holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Peking University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, the University of Western Ontario.

Richard Daverman, PhD – Business Editor, ChinaBio® Today

Dr. Daverman brings over 25 years of investment management and publishing experience to ChinaBio® Today and leads the development of our editorial content. Dr. Daverman has been an editor and author for business and scientific publications including the BIOMASS Group, Business Tennessee, AtTheClose.com, and Execucom. He also has experience as a financial manager and stockbroker for Prudential-Bache and Robert Thomas Securities. Dr. Daverman received his PhD from University of Michigan and served on the faculty of Texas A&M University and Universite d'Angers (France).

Tom Wu - Events Director

Tom Wu leads ChinaBio's conference business and has been responsible for all of our events since 2008. He brings many years of experience with cross-border organizations interfacing with China business, having previously run conference and publishing efforts for companies in Canada and Australia. Mr. Wu holds a Masters Degree in Management and Marketing from Nottingham Business School in the UK.

Jean Meng - Business Director

Jean Meng was our first employee and runs ChinaBio's business operations.  She is the key representative with suppliers supporting our events and all of our efforts in China.  Prior to joining ChinaBio, Ms Meng had several years experience helping launch startup companies in China.  Jean graduated from the Shanghai University of Science and Technology. 

Senior Advisors

David Busch - Medical Device/Supply Chain

David Busch brings over 30 years of operations and consulting experience in the medical device industry.  He was responsible for establishing Selectron's medical business unit, including its China operations, and growing it to over $300M in just two years.  Mr. Busch previously founded a manufacturing systems company focusing on Asia with world-wide implementations in biopharma, chemicals, semiconductor and auto.  Dave holds a BS in industrial management from San Jose State and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He has helped numerous companies leverage Asia; particularly in China, Singapore, Taiwan and Korea.

Landon Lack - Medical Device/Distribution

Landon Lack has over 18 years of sales and management experience, much of it in the medical device and healthcare industry in China. He was previously COO and General Manager with Capitis China, a healthcare supply chain company based in Beijing. He has also held sales management positions in the medical device industry with Boston Scientific and McGaw/B.Braun. Mr. Lack received his BS degree from the United States Military Academy, West Point and an MBA from the China Europe International Business School. Mr. Lack now lives in Beijing.
