Organized by Roche, OrbiMed and McKinsey, and presented by ChinaBio®, the SEED Business Plan Competition was created to develop and foster a community of scientists, healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs and create a platform for commercialization of life sciences and healthcare innovation in China.

Meetings: The SEED Competition incorporates six meetings, including four Kickoff Meetings to held in the major life science innovation centers in China - Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Format:

  • SEED Kickoff Meetings: one/half-day training/coaching workshop will include presentations from the organizers and others to potential submitting companies and academicians, as well as others interested in China’s rapidly growing life science industry.
  • SEED Finalists Coaching Day: up to 15 finalists will be invited to receive hands-on coaching. Presentations and additional coaching will be provided by the organizers and others during this one-day meeting. Attendees will include semi-finalists and other entrants, judges/coaches, and anyone interested in entrepreneurship and China’s life science industry.
  • SEED Final Competition and Award Ceremony: the finalists will present to a judges panel made up of venture capitalists, scientists, industry executives and others. There will also be industry experts speaking on the industry and entrepreneurships. The event will end with the prize ceremony followed by a reception. Attendees will include the finalists, other entrants, government representatives, industry executives, venture capitalists and investors, delegates from the press and interested parties from life science companies and universities.
